The micro-tomography (𝜇CT), is one of the analytical techniques of X-ray absorption contrast imaging, of interest in various areas of science and technology, for its ability to achieve submillimeter 3D characterization of samples. In endodontics, it is a method of interest to study procedures involved in root canal treatments, where one of the main needs is the anatomical characterization of the root canal in the teeth. In this work, the effect of diverging X ray on the final result of a micro-tomography, of a simple geometry and a dental sample incorporated in the simulation virtual environment, was analyzed by a Monte Carlo code namely FLUKA. Also, the 𝜇CT equipment of the LIIFAMIRx laboratorio at FAMAF-UNC and IFEG-CONICET, was adapted and implemented on dental samples of interest in endodontics. It was concluded that the quality of the tomographic reconstruction gets worse with diverging X rays. Also, radiographic images of dental samples were obtained with good contrast between the different materials present, and tomographic reconstructions qualitatively comparable with the real samples, that allowed to characterize the morphology of the root canal and effects by endodontic instrumentation.
