Estimación de las relaciones ZH-R y Pol-R para el radar meteorológico RMA1 : variaciones estacionales y por distancia

Abstract

En este trabajo se propone un nuevo método para encontrar los parámetros de ajuste de las relaciones Z−R y Z−Zdr−R, donde Z es el factor de reflectividad horizontal, Zdr la reflectividad diferencial y R la tasa de precipitación, el cual está basado en el método de correlación por ventanas (Window Correlation Matching Method - WCMM) y el método del promedio de una malla de 3x3 celdas de radar centrada sobre el pluviómetro (Window Matching Method - WMM). El concepto del procedimiento propuesto consiste en relacionar un valor de factor de reflectividad Z y reflectividad diferencial Zdr , obtenido a través de un promedio pesado de la malla de 3x3 celdas sobre el pluviómetro, con un valor de tasa de precipitación R medido en superficie. El promedio pesado se establecerá de tal manera de asignar un peso proporcional a las celdas de la malla que superen un cierto valor mínimo del coeficiente de correlación de Pearson.

In this work we present a new method to determine the Z−R and Z−Zdr−R relationships for the weather radar RMA1 located in Córdoba, Argentina. This new technique is based on the Window Correlation Matching Method (WCMM) and the Window Matching Method (WMM). The proposed method consists of matching an R-value, measured by a rain gauge, with a Z and Zdr values obtained from a weighted average of a 3x3 radar bins window centered over the rain gauge. The weighted average will be calculated in such a way as to assign a proportional weight to the cells of the 3x3 window that exceeds a certain minimum value of the Pearson correlation coefficient.
