The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to analyze how discursive dynamics are related to concept learning in real physics classrooms. The research was addressed using a case-study approach as a methodological strategy. We worked with a high school teacher designing problems that she then took to the classroom. The audiovisual registry was used to carry out a microanalysis of both the learning achieved by the students and the teacher's actions that affect the discursive dynamics in the classroom. The most relevant theoretical framework in this work is the social mechanism for discourse progressiveness in science classrooms. Students, like scientists, must work to advance knowledge, to test and refine hypotheses, and to progressively replace old and invalid theories, and this is only possible if there is symmetry in their interaction. It was possible to describe how the discursive dynamics that occur in the classroom allow students to build a Common Semantic Structure that provides an answer to a given question.
