Abstract
Lithium batteries stand out among energy storage and transportation systems due to their high energy density and operational potential. However, it is necessary to study and develop improved storage systems that offer higher energy density, are environmentally friendly, and are economically viable. The main objective of this thesis focuses on researching and developing innovative materials applicable to batteries with the aim of improving their characteristics and promoting their applicability. Studies were conducted on various carbon-based materials useful in lithium batteries, including lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, and lithium-oxygen batteries. Different experimental and computational techniques, such as SEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, NMR, galvanostatic cycling, and DFT, among others, were used for their analysis and study.
