68.53 % DMS 2.47 Mcal/kgMS y 13.74 % PB; Tratamiento A (TA) 70.94 % DMS, 2.58
Mcal/kgMS y 17.30 % PB; Tratamiento B (TB) 69.69 % DMS, 2.52 Mcal/kgMS y 16.44
%; Tratamiento C (TC) 69.42 % DMS2.51 Mcal/kgMS y 16.40 % PB.
The aim of the present paper was to assess the ration used in a dairy production system in
Crespo (Entre Ríos), and develop, propose and analyse treatments in order to optimise the
forage resources available. The findings show that the dairy production system researched
corresponds to a typical family system from Crespo, in the dairy area Paraná-Nogoyá, and
it is caracterised by a low amount of productive land (< than 100 ha), a production of less
than 1500 litres per day and an inefficient feeding management. Due to the protein-energy
imbalance of the diet employed, the diagnosis determined a deficit daily intake of protein
nitrogen in the rumen and of metabolizable protein in duodenum. Therefore, three rations
balanced in their protein-energy contributions, which could optimize and improve the
system of production, were developed and proposed. The difference of the treatments
resided in the dry matter digestibility (% DMD), energetic concentration (Mcal/kgDM) and
percentage of crude protein (CP) that the administered diets contained. The treatments
were the following: Control Group (CG) 68.53 % DMD, 2.47 Mcal/kgDM and 13.74 %
CP; Treatment A (TA) 70.94 % DMD, 2.58 Mcal/kgDM and 17.30 % CP; Treatment B
(TB) 69.69 % DMD, 2.52 Mcal/kgDM and 16.44 % CP; Treatment C (TC) 69.42 % DMD,
2.51 Mcal/kgDM and 16.40 % CP. The diet that employs the largest amount of extruded
soy is the one that generates the highest increase in the production but with the highest cost
per kg of milk (TA). Meanwhile, TB and TC, which cost less per kg of milk, could
improve the current situation studied but offering lower production values than TA.
